A sponsor of Special Olympics since 2001, Lions' major project with Special Olympics has been providing eye exams and glasses to athletes throughout the world. This program is called "Opening Eyes" which has tested over 350,000 athletes and provided prescription eyewear to 110,000 athletes in more than 70 nations.
Lions Dragstrip was started by eight area Lions Clubs to combat casualties of illegal youth street racing.
